Business Administration Department Students Enrich Analind Girls’ Preparatory School Library with a Cultural Donation

As part of its community and developmental initiatives, and in fulfillment of the goals of the “Scientific Zakat” Foundation, the Business Administration Department at Cihan University–Erbil made a cultural donation to the library of Analind Girls’ Preparatory School on February 3, 2026.

The donation included a rich collection of more than 130 diverse books provided by the University’s Publishing and Printing House. The collection covered various fields, including literature, law, administration, accounting, and politics, in three languages: Arabic, Kurdish, and English. It also included literary books donated by the department’s students, aiming to encourage reading and expand knowledge.

This initiative was carried out under the patronage of the department’s administration and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Hameed Al-Salamee. A group of first-stage students delivered the books to the school. They were warmly received by the school principal, Mrs. Najah Salah Ismail, and the teaching staff, who praised the initiative as a model of constructive cooperation between the university and educational institutions. They emphasized its role in enriching the school’s library and fostering a culture of reading and scientific research among female students.

This step embodies the university’s role as an active partner in local community development and paves the way for further joint initiatives to enhance the educational and cultural environment in the region.

On Saturday, 2 April 2026, the Business Administration Department at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a field campaign to remove harmful waste from the surroundings of the Sheikh Turab area. This activity was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Hawkar Qasim Pirdawood, Head of the Department of Business Administration, A group of active students from different academic stages in the department also participated.
At the beginning of the campaign, the organizers distributed necessary materials such as gloves, garbage bags, and protective equipment to the students. The students then began cleaning the tourist area with great enthusiasm. Although the area receives many visitors each year, it has been affected by environmental pollution caused by tourist waste. Within a short time, the students cleaned a wide area and removed plastic and other harmful waste.
At the end of the campaign, both teachers and students emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives. They highlighted that these activities not only help protect the environment of Kurdistan but also strengthen teamwork and promote a sense of civic responsibility among the younger generation.

Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah ,May 1, 2026, The “Towards Excellence” (Baraw Balla Bun) event, organized by Rozh Institute and primarily sponsored by Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, was held with the attendance of over 2,000 students. During the event, Asst. Lect. Lehat Yousif, Director of Admissions and Registration at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, provided detailed information about the university to the attendees. Following this, the admissions and registration staff distributed gifts and brochures to the students participating in the event.

Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah ،On February 25, 2026, Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachatani, Director of the Psychological and Social Counseling Center at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya, delivered an educational seminar for the students of (Layla Zana Basic School for Girls). The seminar focused on effective study methods, exam preparation, and techniques for overcoming exam-related fear and anxiety.
