As part of the ongoing activities of the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course and within the framework of volunteer services provided by the “Zakāt al-Ilm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, Mr. Bilal Hikmat Rasheed presented a lecture on August 9, 2026. The session focused on the importance of technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on various fields of work, aiming to develop and enhance the skills of the participants, who are staff members of the Khani Cultural and Media Center.
In accordance with the continuous directives of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen As’ad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, and with the aim of emphasizing the awareness and development program of the Scientific Zakat Foundation as well as serving various segments of society, the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University-Duhok commenced a specialized training course today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, under the title:
“Developing Programming Skills and Artificial Intelligence – AI”
This course was organized to teach programming languages and the application of artificial intelligence technology to prepare and support programming skills.
On the third day of the course, the schedule proceeded as follows:
First Session: Presented by Mr. Salar Faisal Nuri, focusing on assessing the skills and talents of the course participants in the field of technology and artificial intelligence. Reference was also made to the methods and mechanisms of delivering seminars and presentations using AI tools.
Second Session: Presented by Mr. Muhammad Shakeeb, a staff member of the Media Unit, introducing AI tools and their application in generating images and designs.
The following topics were discussed:
Formulating professional commands (Prompts) and editing high-quality images.
Designing social media content and integrating artificial intelligence with design software.
Executing practical projects and best practices for professional work.

Based on the ongoing guidance of Professor Dr. Zirvan Abdulmohsen Asaad, President of Cihan University – Duhok, and with the aim of supporting the awareness and development program of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” Foundation and serving various segments of society, the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University – Duhok commenced a specialized training course today, Monday, August 17, 2026, entitled:
(Developing Programming and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Skills)
This course aims to teach programming languages and the application of artificial intelligence technologies to enhance and develop the programming skills of the participants.

As part of the activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, and in line with the directives of the University President,( Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad ) , emphasizing the importance of volunteer services and awareness initiatives for all community segments, another lecture was delivered on August 10, 2026. Held within the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course, the session targeted staff members from the Khani Cultural and Media Center in Duhok specializing in video editing and design. The lecture was presented by ( Mr. Rayan Hashim ) , a member of the university’s media department, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing video editing software

On August 2, 2026, the Law Department began a comprehensive and specialized training course entitled:
“Comprehensive Legal Development: Linguistic and Technological Skills in Fieldwork.”
This course aims to enhance and develop the capabilities of law students and researchers in academic fields, legal language, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in legal work.

Assistant Professor Dr. Reber Hussein, Head of the Law Department, spoke about the department’s role in raising awareness and developing the skills and capabilities of students and graduates to prepare them for the job market.
First Lecture:
Presented by Dr. Dzhwar Ahmed on the psychology of learning and building legal understanding.
Lecture Two:
Based on the recommendations of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, to prioritize the volunteer programs of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” (Zakāt of Knowledge) Foundation and to deliver voluntary and developmental services to all segments of society; the activities of the course titled “Psychological Awareness, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence” continue in coordination with the global Frida Organization at the Shariya Complex.
On July 29, 2026, three additional lectures were presented by:
1. Mr. Salar Faisal Nouri: On technology and artificial intelligence.
2. Ms. Sanaa Kareem Mustafa: On how to overcome life problems and paths to happiness.
3. Mr. Hizhar Ali: On the importance of personal development.
Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah , On Sunday, August 2, 2026, the summer course titled “Media and Marketing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” launched. This course is organized by the Department of Digital Media and Marketing at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya, aiming to enhance the scientific level and skills of participants in the modern technological era.
The course commenced in the presence of students and participants, with Assistant Lecturer Sarwat Abdullah and Assistant Lecturer Basoz Tofiq beginning their lectures. During the course program, Assistant Lecturer Sarwat Abdullah presents topics related to history, media, and practical tools, while Assistant Lecturer Basoz Tofiq delivers sessions on the impact of artificial intelligence on advertising.
Under the continuous guidance of Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Assad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, and within the framework of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” Foundation program, a specialized training course in (English Language and Technology) was launched today, July 19, 2026, for the employees of the Directorate General of Culture and Arts in Duhok Governorate.

This program aims to enhance the professional and technical capabilities of the directorate’s staff, enabling them to perform their duties in a more modern and efficient manner.
Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok and the Semel District Governorate, a computer skills development training course was launched on June 29, 2026, for a group of women, students, and graduates. This course is being conducted in coordination with the Semel Sports and Youth Center and the Kurdistan Women’s Union – Semel.
The course is being taught by computer science specialists Ms. Shaima Ismail and Ms. Dozdar Mahdi, and will last for two weeks.
The course aims to develop the practical and applied skills of participants in the following key areas:
Microsoft Word: for creating and formatting documents.
Microsoft Excel: for working with data, performing calculations, and conducting statistical analysis.
Microsoft PowerPoint: for creating professional and advanced presentations.
