A workshop for religious teachers was held titled ‘The Role of Psychiatrists in Psychoanalysis’.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the presence of Tayeb Zarar Sherwani, the Director General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Erbil Governorate, and Dr. Aym Ali, Dean of the Castle College at Erbil University, the Castle College at Erbil University, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Endowments in Erbil Governorate, organized a seminar titled “The Role of Preachers in Psychological Development” for a large number of religious teachers in the central endowments in Erbil and its surroundings.

First, some verses from the Holy Quran were recited, then the Dean of the College of Qalat, University of Erbil delivered a welcoming speech.

After that, B.D. Omar Bati presented a seminar titled “The Role of Preachers in Psychology” and focused on religious psychology and its effects on the preacher and the caller, as religious psychology reflects on ethics, speech, behavior, efficiency, intelligence, knowledge, and professionalism. That will be and so on.

He affirmed that religious teachers are pioneers and bearers of a sacred message, and that they should have a complete understanding of religious psychology and psychology, and be able to deliver Friday sermons with calmness and balance.

At the end of the seminar, there was a lively discussion between Dr. Omar Bati and the religious teachers.

In the end, the General Director of Awqaf expressed his support for organizing such seminars in a statement, in addition to congratulating Erbil University, Qala College. He said: ‘As Awqaf, we thank Erbil University, Qala College, and Dr. Omar Bati, and we thank the religious teachers who always come with enthusiasm for such activities, and this is appreciated.’

He added: “As a stop, we will always cooperate in any activity that serves religious educators, Muslims, and the community, and contributes to the development of the idea of moderation, understanding, and inner peace.”

After that, the Dean of the Castle College at the University of Erbil expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Tayeb Zarar Sharwani, the Director General of Endowments, and Dr. Omar Bati.

On September 10, 2026, under the slogan “Zakat of Knowledge is Our Duty,” the Zakat Al-Ilm Organization, in coordination with Cihan Institute of Erbil, organized a seminar delivered by Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachatan titled: “Building a Modern Pedagogical Relationship Between Teachers and Students.” The event was held in the hall of Cihan Institute for the institute’s faculty and students, in the presence of Dr. Ali Karim Al-Zamin, Administrative Director of the Zakat Al-Ilm Organization, and Mr. Hiwa Mohammed, Director of Cihan Institute. During the session, he discussed the role of teachers and effective ways of engaging with students, concluding the seminar with an open Q&A session for the attendees.

On, June 27, 2026, in an academic ceremony attended by the Head of the Department and all faculty members, the “Scientific Zakat” training course titled “Foundation of Microbiology” was successfully concluded. The course was organized and delivered by the faculty members, Asst. Lect. Hozan Qasim and Asst. Lect. Sherwan Hussein.

During the ceremony, certificates of participation were presented to the attendees. Furthermore, the department’s presidency commended the instructors and wished the participants continued success in their educational journey and the development of their practical and hands-on skills.

As part of the ongoing activities of the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course and within the framework of volunteer services provided by the “Zakāt al-Ilm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, Mr. Bilal Hikmat Rasheed presented a lecture on August 9, 2026. The session focused on the importance of technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on various fields of work, aiming to develop and enhance the skills of the participants, who are staff members of the Khani Cultural and Media Center.
