Cihan University – Sulaimaniya Conducts a Workshop on “Professional Code of Conduct for University and Institute Lecturers”

As part of its commitment to enhancing professional and academic awareness, the Department of Law, in cooperation with the Science Zakat Foundation, organized a scientific workshop on Tuesday (29-9-2026) regarding the “Professional Code of Conduct for University and Institute Lecturers in the Kurdistan Region.” It is worth noting that these guidelines were issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region.

The workshop’s content revolved around two main axes as follows:

First Axis: Focused on introducing scientific ethics and behaviors and how to implement them within the higher education environment. It was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sadat Abdullah Aziz.

Second Axis: Focused on the administrative and legal dimensions concerning the duties and rights of university lecturers in accordance with the Ministry’s code of professional conduct. It was presented by Dr. Aso Hamasheen Abdulkarim.

At the conclusion of the workshop, an open floor was provided for discussion and exchange of views between the attendees and presenters, during which remarks and feedback regarding the implementation of these guidelines in higher education institutions were discussed.

English Language Course Successfully Continues in Zakho

Based on the recommendations of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, aiming to provide voluntary awareness and development services to various community segments, and within the activities of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok (in coordination with the Kurdistan Women’s Union – Zakho Center), the specialized English language course for young women is successfully ongoing in Zakho, following its launch on July 6, 2026.

Conducted by the expert lecturer Mr. Mohammed Faisal Habib, from General Education Dept.

Health Awareness and Community Empowerment

As part of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation initiative

the College of Nursing at Cihan University–Duhok continues to offer its scientific course entitled “Health Awareness and Community Health.” In this context, another valuable seminar was delivered by Mr. (M. Ziyad Jamil) on (Vaccines and Their Role in Combating Diseases), aiming to enhance students’ health and scientific awareness, strengthen their nursing competencies, and reinforce their practical and hands-on skills.

Launch of a Specialized Medical Course at Cihan University–Duhok

As part of the ongoing activities and programs of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation for Awareness and Development, the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the College of Nursing at Cihan University–Duhok, has launched today, Saturday, June 6, 2026, a specialized medical science course for medical department students, entitled: “Medication Awareness and Community Health”, the course will continue for five days.
