Science Zakat Foundation – Duhok Holds Closing Ceremony for Human Development Course for the Kurdistan Women’s Union in Duhok District

On July 23, 2025, under the guidance of Professor Dr. Zerevan Abdulmuhsin Asaad, President of Cihan University – Duhok, the Sceince Zakāt Foundation concluded a human development courseorganized in coordination with the Kurdistan Women’s Union in Duhok District.

The course covered various theoretical and practical topics, including (Psychological awareness, Health, Law, Society, Family, Technology, Social media…)

Six lectures were presented by esteemed speakers:

1. Prof. Dr. Saber Abdullah – On the role of women in family life and the challenges facing modern families.

2. Dr. Muwafaq Ramzi – On the importance of health awareness and its impact on family and societal stability.

3. Dr. Dzhwar Ahmad – On legal awareness and literacy, including an explanation of the Law on Domestic Violence.

4. Assistant Lecturer Badr Jamal Jumaa – On the role of women and their responsibility in raising generations, emphasizing the importance of a strong social foundation.

5. Assistant Lecturer Khalid Ibrahim – On the negative impact of the misuse of social media on family life.

6. Colonel Hayman Suleiman – gave a presentation on the implications and real-life examples related to the misuse of social media.

The course lasted two days, during which three sessions were delivered each day. At the end of the program, certificates of participation were distributed to the attendees.

Motivation.. The Main Driver for Academic and Personal Success

Under the recommendations of the University President, (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmohsen Assad), to prioritize awareness programs for various segments of society, and within the developmental activities of the “Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation” at Cihan University-Duhok, the Department of General Education organized a panel discussion yesterday, 22/6/2026. The session was presented by Ms. Sanaa Karim Mustafa for a number of students, focusing primarily on “Motivation”.

The seminar included:

– Strategies to cultivate and develop intrinsic motivation among students.

– Mechanisms to overcome daily challenges and pressures to ensure consistency.

– Moving forward sustainably toward achieving academic excellence and fostering a passionate personality

Within the Activities of Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation A Seminar on Antimicrobial Resistance

On (22/6/2026), as part of the ongoing development, awareness, and cultural activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation, a specialized seminar was organized under the title: “Understanding Antimicrobial Resistance: Causes, Mechanisms, and Prevention”.

The seminar was presented by Mr. (Sherwan Hussein Darwish), Head of the Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Microbiology Department.

Key Highlights of the Seminar:

Proper definition and understanding of antimicrobial resistance.

Identifying the scientific causes and mechanisms driving the development of this phenomenon.

Scientific methods and prevention strategies to mitigate its risks to society.

Zakat Al-elm Foundation Hosts a Seminar on Rights and Professional Responsibility in Private Universities

On June 22, 2026, as part of the awareness and general culture activities organized by the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, a seminar was held titled:
“Working in Private Universities: Rights, Duties, and Professional Responsibility”

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Reber Hussein Yousif, Head of the Law Department at the university.

The session explored the legal dimensions of employment in private higher education, detailing the rights and duties of faculty and staff. It also highlighted how to regulate administrative and legal relations between individuals and academic institutions to reinforce proper governance principles.
