On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, as part of its commitment to academic outreach, the Department of Interior Design Engineering students at Cihan University-Erbil presented an insightful seminar for students at Zhyar High School for Girls under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed.

During the seminar, university students provided a comprehensive overview of the Interior Design Engineering program at Cihan University-Erbil, highlighting its hands-on learning approach, expert faculty, and modern facilities. They discussed the role of interior design in shaping functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, as well as its impact on well-being, productivity, and sustainability.

Students were introduced to diverse career opportunities in interior design, including residential and commercial design, exhibition and set design, and more. Through interactive discussions and exposure to design concepts, high school participants gained a deeper understanding of the field and its potential.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, allowing students to engage directly with university representatives and gain valuable insights into pursuing a career in interior design.

Cihan University-Erbil remains committed to fostering educational outreach initiatives, inspiring young minds to explore innovative fields, and equipping future interior designers with the knowledge and skills needed for success.

Health Awareness and Community Empowerment

The Department of Medical Laboratory Concludes the “Foundation of Microbiology” Course

On, June 27, 2026, in an academic ceremony attended by the Head of the Department and all faculty members, the “Scientific Zakat” training course titled “Foundation of Microbiology” was successfully concluded. The course was organized and delivered by the faculty members, Asst. Lect. Hozan Qasim and Asst. Lect. Sherwan Hussein.

During the ceremony, certificates of participation were presented to the attendees. Furthermore, the department’s presidency commended the instructors and wished the participants continued success in their educational journey and the development of their practical and hands-on skills.

A Lecture on Technology and Artificial Intelligence Presented at Khani Cultural and Media Center

As part of the ongoing activities of the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course and within the framework of volunteer services provided by the “Zakāt al-Ilm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, Mr. Bilal Hikmat Rasheed presented a lecture on August 9, 2026. The session focused on the importance of technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on various fields of work, aiming to develop and enhance the skills of the participants, who are staff members of the Khani Cultural and Media Center.

Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation Organizes a Seminar on “First Aid” for Participants of the 5th Pedagogical Course

In line with the continuous directives of the University President (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdul-Muhsin Asaad) to emphasize awareness and development programs for all segments of society, and as part of the ongoing activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, a special seminar titled “First Aid” was presented on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

The seminar was conducted by Mr. Bassam Shawkat and Mr. Karzan Ismail, lab instructors in the medical laboratories at the university, for the participants of the 5th Pedagogical Course. The session covered in detail the core principles of first aid, urgent procedures for saving patient lives, and effective protocols for managing emergency situations to protect community health.
