Department of Public Administration, Cihan University-Erbil Organizes Voluntary Food Distribution Activity in Erbil

The Department of Public Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized a voluntary humanitarian activity on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Hawkar Qasim Pidawod and with the coordination of Assistant Lecturer Raz Azad Jalal.

Fourth-year students from the department took part in the initiative, which focused on distributing Meal packages to labourers and individuals in need across several areas of Erbil. The activity aimed to support low-income workers, reduce the impact of poverty, and assist people who spend long hours on the streets without access to sufficient food or financial resources. Students engaged directly with workers, handing out packaged meals and offering words of support.

The department emphasized that such voluntary initiatives help strengthen students’ sense of social responsibility and highlight the importance of community service within the field of public administration.

A Lecture on Technology and Artificial Intelligence Presented at Khani Cultural and Media Center

As part of the ongoing activities of the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course and within the framework of volunteer services provided by the “Zakāt al-Ilm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, Mr. Bilal Hikmat Rasheed presented a lecture on August 9, 2026. The session focused on the importance of technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on various fields of work, aiming to develop and enhance the skills of the participants, who are staff members of the Khani Cultural and Media Center.

Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation Organizes a Seminar on “First Aid” for Participants of the 5th Pedagogical Course

In line with the continuous directives of the University President (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdul-Muhsin Asaad) to emphasize awareness and development programs for all segments of society, and as part of the ongoing activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, a special seminar titled “First Aid” was presented on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

The seminar was conducted by Mr. Bassam Shawkat and Mr. Karzan Ismail, lab instructors in the medical laboratories at the university, for the participants of the 5th Pedagogical Course. The session covered in detail the core principles of first aid, urgent procedures for saving patient lives, and effective protocols for managing emergency situations to protect community health.
