On June 21, 2026, as part of the awareness and general culture activities of the “Zakat Al-elm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, which continues to provide its knowledge output and scientific services, a seminar titled “The Concept of Banking and Financial Services” was held.

The seminar was presented by Mr. Revend Ferzende, Coordinator of the English Language Department.

The session featured a comprehensive and thorough academic presentation covering the fundamental concepts of banking operations and the various types of modern financial services. It also highlighted the role of the banking system in economic development, along with mechanisms to enhance financial awareness among community members on how to best utilize these services and contribute to developing general financial literacy.

Under the recommendations of the University President, (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmohsen Assad), to prioritize awareness programs for various segments of society, and within the developmental activities of the “Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation” at Cihan University-Duhok, the Department of General Education organized a panel discussion yesterday, 22/6/2026. The session was presented by Ms. Sanaa Karim Mustafa for a number of students, focusing primarily on “Motivation”.

The seminar included:

– Strategies to cultivate and develop intrinsic motivation among students.

– Mechanisms to overcome daily challenges and pressures to ensure consistency.

– Moving forward sustainably toward achieving academic excellence and fostering a passionate personality

Within the Activities of Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation A Seminar on Antimicrobial Resistance

On (22/6/2026), as part of the ongoing development, awareness, and cultural activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation, a specialized seminar was organized under the title: “Understanding Antimicrobial Resistance: Causes, Mechanisms, and Prevention”.

The seminar was presented by Mr. (Sherwan Hussein Darwish), Head of the Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Microbiology Department.

Proper definition and understanding of antimicrobial resistance.

Identifying the scientific causes and mechanisms driving the development of this phenomenon.

Scientific methods and prevention strategies to mitigate its risks to society.

Zakat Al-elm Foundation Hosts a Seminar on Rights and Professional Responsibility in Private Universities

On June 22, 2026, as part of the awareness and general culture activities organized by the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, a seminar was held titled:
“Working in Private Universities: Rights, Duties, and Professional Responsibility”

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Reber Hussein Yousif, Head of the Law Department at the university.

The session explored the legal dimensions of employment in private higher education, detailing the rights and duties of faculty and staff. It also highlighted how to regulate administrative and legal relations between individuals and academic institutions to reinforce proper governance principles.
