Computer Science Department Students Visited Sava Private School to Present an Awareness Presentation on Technology and Artificial Intelligence

As part of Cihan University – Erbil’s commitment to spreading knowledge and enhancing academic engagement with the community, fourth-year students from the Computer Science Department visited Sava Private School on Thursday, February 13, 2025, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Reem Jaafar.

The students were received by Mr. Hoshmand Sahand, the school principal, who commended the initiative and emphasized its importance in raising school students’ awareness of modern technological advancements.

During the visit, they delivered an informative presentation on the recent breakthroughs in technology and artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to introduce the school students to the significance of these advancements and their growing impact on various aspects of daily and professional life. The session also included interactive discussions, allowing them to ask questions and encouraging them to explore their future in technological disciplines.

This initiative is part of a series of scientific and community activities organized by Cihan University – Erbil to enhance technological awareness among school students and encourage them to keep up with the latest developments in AI.

Health Awareness and Community Empowerment

The Department of Medical Laboratory Concludes the “Foundation of Microbiology” Course

On, June 27, 2026, in an academic ceremony attended by the Head of the Department and all faculty members, the “Scientific Zakat” training course titled “Foundation of Microbiology” was successfully concluded. The course was organized and delivered by the faculty members, Asst. Lect. Hozan Qasim and Asst. Lect. Sherwan Hussein.

During the ceremony, certificates of participation were presented to the attendees. Furthermore, the department’s presidency commended the instructors and wished the participants continued success in their educational journey and the development of their practical and hands-on skills.

A Lecture on Technology and Artificial Intelligence Presented at Khani Cultural and Media Center

As part of the ongoing activities of the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course and within the framework of volunteer services provided by the “Zakāt al-Ilm” Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, Mr. Bilal Hikmat Rasheed presented a lecture on August 9, 2026. The session focused on the importance of technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on various fields of work, aiming to develop and enhance the skills of the participants, who are staff members of the Khani Cultural and Media Center.

Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation Organizes a Seminar on “First Aid” for Participants of the 5th Pedagogical Course

In line with the continuous directives of the University President (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdul-Muhsin Asaad) to emphasize awareness and development programs for all segments of society, and as part of the ongoing activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, a special seminar titled “First Aid” was presented on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

The seminar was conducted by Mr. Bassam Shawkat and Mr. Karzan Ismail, lab instructors in the medical laboratories at the university, for the participants of the 5th Pedagogical Course. The session covered in detail the core principles of first aid, urgent procedures for saving patient lives, and effective protocols for managing emergency situations to protect community health.
