On Saturday (23/8/2025) for the closing ceremony of the third professional course for lawyers, organized by the Zakat al-Ilm Foundation in cooperation with the Department of Law, attended by the instructors of the course, including: Judge (Abdulkarim Haidar Ali) (former member of the Region’s Court of Cassation), Judge (Jassim Jaza Jafar) (alternate member of the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq), Judge (Soran Ibrahim) (Judge of the Personal Status Court in Sulaymaniyah), and Judge (Sirwan Rawof Ali) (Judge of the Sharba Jir First Instance Court), as well as the presence of: Assistant Professor Dr. (Saddat Abdullah Aziz), Assistant to the President of the University, Assistant Professor Dr. (Nuri Hama Said), Director of the Zakat al-Ilm Foundation, Dr. (Asso Hameshin Abdulkarim), Head of the Department of Law, and Dr. (Dijwar Anwar), Director of University Management. During the ceremony, a shield of honor was awarded from the University Presidency to the esteemed judges in appreciation of their efforts and hard work, and thereafter, thanks and appreciation were expressed from the University Presidency to the supervisors of the course, who are graduates of the Department of Law, namely: (Yara Sarwar Jalil), (Arya Omar Ahmed), and (NimaSalah Ahmed, Helen Salar Abdul-Lah, and Sarood Jalal Hama Gharib, and at the end of the course, participation certificates were awarded to the participants. It is worth mentioning that this course started on (28/6) and concluded on (23/8), with a total of more than (24) study hours.

Successful Conclusion & Certificate Distribution Ceremony at Cihan University–Duhok

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the free English language course: “Speaking Club: You, Me & ChatGPT,” organized by the Department of General Education as part of the Scientific Zakat Foundation’s initiatives.

The 2-week intensive course officially concluded on June 24, 2026. Led by the brilliant Assistant Professor Dr. Balachandran Vadivel, participants enhanced their speaking skills and confidence using modern methods and AI tools!

To celebrate their dedication, a special ceremony was held where completion certificates were proudly distributed to all participants.

The Zakat Al-elm Foundation Organizes an Extensive Seminar on Body Language for Faculty and Staff

On June 27, 2026, as part of its ongoing programs for capacity building and community service, the Zakat Al-elm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok organized a distinguished specialized seminar titled “Body Language,” aimed at the university’s academic faculty and administrative staff.

The seminar was presented by Mr. Idris Hassan, a specialist in teaching methods, body language etiquette, and a certified international trainer.

During the seminar, the speaker covered several main and detailed topics, most notably:

The concept of body language.
How academics should interact.
Administrative communication for employees.
How to understand and perceive others’ body signals to avoid misunderstandings and enhance negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Within Zakat Al-elm Activities: The Department of General Education Organizes a Workshop on Psychological Empowerment for Women at Nawa Center

In continuation of the ongoing awareness and community service initiatives of the (Zakat Al-Ilm) Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok aimed at serving various segments of society, the Department of General Education organized a specialized workshop titled “From Pain to Power” for the resident women at the “Nawa” Center. The workshop was delivered by Ms. (Sanaa Karim Mustafa) in cooperation with the department coordinator, Ms. (Dilman Omar Ali).

The workshop aimed to enhance psychological resilience, instill hope, and develop coping mechanisms to effectively face life’s challenges through interactive activities and constructive discussions. At the conclusion, deep appreciation was extended to the management of the “Nawa” Center for their warm hospitality and cooperation, hoping that such initiatives will continue to support and empower women for a more stable and empowered future.
