Cihan University-Duhok Organizes a Health Awareness Workshop

Following the recommendations of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmohsen Assad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, aimed at developing and prioritizing awareness projects for various groups and segments of society, and in continuation of the (Zakat Al-Ilm / Alms of Knowledge) program activities, the Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Tourism in Duhok, organized a workshop on health awareness on Monday, June 22, 2026.

During the workshop, the topics were presented by Assist. Lect. Ava Hamdi Said, while Ms. Hozheen Ahmed served as the coordinator of this activity. This initiative falls within the framework of the university’s strategy to further serve the community and spread health awareness.

In accordance with the continuous directives of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen As’ad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, and with the aim of emphasizing the awareness and development program of the Scientific Zakat Foundation as well as serving various segments of society, the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University-Duhok commenced a specialized training course today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, under the title:

“Developing Programming Skills and Artificial Intelligence – AI”

This course was organized to teach programming languages and the application of artificial intelligence technology to prepare and support programming skills.

On the third day of the course, the schedule proceeded as follows:

First Session: Presented by Mr. Salar Faisal Nuri, focusing on assessing the skills and talents of the course participants in the field of technology and artificial intelligence. Reference was also made to the methods and mechanisms of delivering seminars and presentations using AI tools.

Second Session: Presented by Mr. Muhammad Shakeeb, a staff member of the Media Unit, introducing AI tools and their application in generating images and designs.

The following topics were discussed:

Formulating professional commands (Prompts) and editing high-quality images.

Designing social media content and integrating artificial intelligence with design software.

Executing practical projects and best practices for professional work.

In accordance with the continuous directives of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen As’ad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, and with the goal of supporting the awareness and development program of the Scientific Zakat Foundation as well as serving various segments of society, the Department of Computer Science continues the activities of its specialized training course titled:

“Developing Programming Skills and Artificial Intelligence – AI”

This course comes as part of the department’s commitment to teaching programming languages and applying artificial intelligence technologies to enhance and develop participants’ programming capabilities. On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the second day of the course successfully continued with the following sessions:

  • Web Development: Presented by Assistant Lecturer Shaker Mahmoud Abbas.
  • Artificial Intelligence in Computer Networks (Modern Technologies and Applications): Presented by Assistant Lecturer Bilal Hikmat Rasheed.

Under the patronage of the University Presidency, and in an effort to disseminate cultural and health awareness within the academic community, the Department of Anesthesia at Cihan University-Duhok organized an important training course titled “Health Awareness for Patient Caregivers and Companions,” as part of the activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation for Awareness and General Culture program.

On the first day of the course, dated June 23, 2026, the opening lecture was delivered by Mr. Bassam Shawkat and Mr. Karzan Ismail. The lecture focused on proper mechanisms for providing primary care to patients and how to handle various health conditions at home and in the workplace.
