A discussion session titled ‘The Role of Technology in Education’

As part of its scientific and awareness activities, Babagurgur University organized a discussion session titled ‘The Role of Technology in Education,’ presented by Professor Helo Ali Hama Othman, on May 15, 2025.

The episode highlighted the importance of integrating technology into the educational process, its role in developing teaching methods, expanding learning opportunities, and stimulating students’ creative thinking. It also addressed the challenges that may face the implementation of technology in the educational environment and ways to overcome them to achieve maximum benefit.

The event witnessed notable interaction from students and professors, and contributed to enhancing awareness of the importance of digital transformation in education, as part of the university’s vision to keep pace with modern scientific and technological developments.

Professor Dr. Karim Sharif Qarajetani delivered a seminar to first-year students at the Technical and Vocational Institute of Cihan University entitled “How to Adapt to the University Environment and the Requirements of This New Stage.” In the seminar, he discussed the factors that help students adapt to the academic environment after transitioning from a completely different setting. A large number of students and faculty members attended the seminar.

Professor Dr. Karim Sharif Qarajetani delivered an educational–psychological seminar entitled “The Role of the Family in Encouraging Children to Read” at the Sulaimani International Book Fair. A large number of citizens attended the seminar, which focused on the factors that help develop a habit of reading, with particular emphasis on the role of parents in this process.

Dr. Momin Mohammed Yasin, Head of the Translation Department and Director of the Language Center at Cihan University–Sulaimani, participated in a training course organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The course focused on the role of media campaigns in bringing about social change, as well as the impact of language and its role in guiding and transforming different societies.
