The third annual economic forum, titled “Empowering the Iraqi Economy: Growth Through Strategic Investments and Banking Excellence,” concluded today at the Research Center Hall of Cihan University in Duhok. The forum was attended by Professor Dr. Zirvan Abdul-Muhsin Asaad, President of the University, and a group of experts specializing in investment and the banking sector. It consisted of two sessions.

🔹️Speakers in the first session:

Professor Dr. Abdul-Hussein Al-Anbaki, Chief Economic Advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister.
Dr. Haval Sadiq Ismail, Representative of the Kurdistan Region Investment Commission and Director of Investment in Duhok.

The session was moderated by Professor Ahmed Al-Saffar, former Member of the Iraqi Parliament.

🔹️The second session was presented by:

Mr. Mohammed Al-Najjar, Investment Advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister and Director of the Iraqi Development Fund.
Mr. Ahmed Al-Tabakchali, Chief Strategist at the Asian Development Fund and Professor of Economics in London. The session was moderated by Dr. Nawwar Al-Saadi, Professor of International Economics and Director of the Research Center at our university.

Numerous interactive questions, discussions, and contributions were raised, and the forum concluded with a set of proposals and conclusions presented by the professors who spoke and the attendees.

Media Department Students Participate in an Awareness Activity as Part of the Campaign Against Violence Against Women

Continuing the activities of the 16 Days of Activism campaign against violence against women, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, students from the Media Department, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Dilan Ismail Mawlood, carried out an awareness activity at Milli Market in the Nawroz neighborhood.

During the activity, Media Department students from Cihan University–Erbil distributed awareness brochures to the public. The brochures focused on identifying electronic violence and its different forms, in addition to outlining methods of self-protection and ways to address online abuse.

As an academic and scientific center, the Media Department at Cihan University–Erbil actively participates in awareness campaigns and adopts various methods of delivering educational messages through multiple media tools.

The Importance of the Relationship Between Family and Society

Professor Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachatani, Director of the Psychological and Social Guidance Center at Cihan University–Sulaimaniyah, delivered a seminar on the importance of the relationship between family and school at Rejin Girls’ High School, aimed at the parents of twelfth-grade students. A large number of mothers and fathers attended, and during the seminar, they were given the opportunity to ask questions and exchange information.

This event was part of the voluntary work of the faculty members of Cihan University–Sulaimaniyah, organized in coordination and cooperation with the Zakat al-Ilm Foundation and various educational institutions.
