Introduction Ceremony of the Scientific Zakat Institute at the Cihan University of Sulaymaniyah

Today, a special ceremony was held at Cihan University-Sulaymaniyah to introduce the Scientific Zakat Institute, attended by prominent figures, academics, trade unions, and representatives from various organizations.
The event began with a warm welcome to the guests, followed by a moment of silence in honors of the martyrs. A video presentation was then shown, highlighting the establishment of the institute and the activities of the global educational community.
Professor Dr. Omid Rafiq, president of Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, delivered an opening speech. This was followed by a seminar presented by Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajgar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the group of Cihan Universities, its colleges, and schools, detailing the mission and objectives of the institute.
During the ceremony, the Scientific Zakat Institute awarded commemorative shields to several distinguished individuals and organizations in recognition of their contributions.
The Scientific Zakat Institute is founded on the principle that just as ‘zakat’ (obligatory almsgiving) is given from wealth; knowledge too should have its ‘zakat’—meaning a portion of one’s expertise and intellectual capacity must be dedicated to serving society.
