Completion of a training workshop for students of Cihan University-Duhok

As part of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation’s programs at Cihan University-Duhok, a specialized workshop was held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, for fourth-year students in the departments of (English Language and Psychology), in cooperation with the Directorate of Preparation and Training in Duhok.

The workshop aimed to prepare students for the field application phase in schools, and included a series of high-quality lectures presented by a select group of specialized professors:

1. م. هـ. بدر جمال جمعة: تناول استراتيجيات إدارة الصف وكيفية التعامل مع المواقف الحرجة.
2. م. هـ. رعد عبدالمجيد يوسف: ركز على أخلاقيات المهنة وبروتوكولات التعامل مع الوسط المدرسي.
3. م. عمر إسكندر عمر: استعرض آليات التخطيط الفعّال للدروس وصياغة الأهداف السلوكية.
4. م. هـ. موسى حسين موسى: سلّط الضوء على استراتيجيات التواصل الحديثة وتوظيف الوسائل السمعية والبصرية في تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the field application forms were officially distributed to the students present, in preparation for commencing their training duties in educational institutions.

On January 12, 2026, a number of students from Cihan University-Duhok, at the initiative of the Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Reber Hussein, and under the supervision of the university’s Academic Officer, Shiyan Mahdi, participated in an important workshop organized by the Zhinda Organization in cooperation with the Independent Commission for Human Rights – Duhok Office, and in coordination with Cihan University-Duhok.

The workshop opened with welcoming remarks from Ms. M. Chiman, President of the Zhinda Organization, and Mr. Diler Abdullah Hassan, Head of the Independent Commission for Human Rights – Duhok Office, who presented an overview of the workshop’s objectives and main themes.

Following this, Professor Dr. Ismail Ababakr Bamarni, a university professor, delivered the first lecture, entitled: “The Role of Legal Philosophy in Changing Social and Individual Awareness,” in which he addressed the intellectual and philosophical dimensions of law and their impact on reshaping societal mindsets. In the second session, Dr. Zubaida Sayed Saleh presented her lecture entitled:

“The Impact of Social Stigma on Women’s Participation in the Labor Market,” highlighting the social and cultural challenges that hinder women’s economic empowerment.

The workshop concluded with an open academic discussion involving students from Cihan University-Duhok and a number of academics and trainers, focusing on the phenomenon of social stigma and the importance of promoting women’s participation in society. The session also featured intellectual dialogue and an exchange of views, along with in-depth discussions on ways to confront entrenched stereotypes and support the active role of women in society.

On the second day, January 18, 2026, a number of students from Cihan University-Duhok, at the initiative of the Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Reber Hussein, and under the supervision of the Academic Officer of Cihan University-Duhok, Shiyan Mahdi, participated in an important workshop organized by the Zhinda Organization in cooperation with the Independent Commission for Human Rights – Duhok Office and the Duhok Women’s Council for Peace and Participation, and in coordination with Cihan University-Duhok.

It is worth mentioning that this event comes within the activities of the project “Women of Duhok Raise Their Voices for Peace: Towards Fair and Inclusive Participation”, implemented in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and with the support of both the WFWI organization and the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

On January 27 (Tuesday), the Cihan Academy-Duhok, in cooperation with the College of Law at Cihan University–Duhok, organized a seminar dedicated to the writer “Sherzad Nayif”, entitled “A Linguistic Reading of the Kurdistan Flag.” The seminar was held at Cihan University–Duhok, Peshmerga Hall. During the seminar, the lecturer presented an analytical discussion of several key linguistic concepts related to the topic. This was followed by an academic debate in which students and faculty members actively participated, engaging in a scholarly exchange of ideas.

On Saturday, 31/1/2026, the Department of Medical laboratories , under the supervision of the Head of the Department, ms. Ava Hamdi Saeed, in cooperation with the Sports Unit and the student Sahand Samir at Cihan University–Duhok, organized a workshop about the benefits and harms of using creatine and hormones by body-building athletes
