March 10, 2025 – The Law Department at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya (CUS), in collaboration with the Career Development Center (CDC) and the Civil Development Organization (CDO), successfully concluded a training course on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (S/RES/1325) on Women, Peace, and Security.
The training, attended by 30 law students, was taught by Ms. Donya Ali Rafiq and aimed at deepening students’ understanding of the resolution’s focus on women’s roles in conflict prevention and peacebuilding. The course also emphasized gender equality and the importance of women’s participation in peace processes.
Dr. Ismail Najmadin Namiq, Head of the Law Department, highlighted the significance of this training in preparing students to engage with critical international peace and security issues.
