The Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University – Duhok has recently concluded a successful intensive training course in C++ programming language, significantly enhancing the scientific and technical skills of its students and local programming enthusiasts. The five-day course took place from Sunday, July 20 to Thursday, July 24, 2025, and aimed to refine the participants’ programming capabilities and prepare them to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

The sessions were practically led by Ms. Duzdar Mahdi Ahmed, a lecturer in the Computer Science Department. Her instruction covered fundamental C++ topics such as variables, data types, conditional structures, loops, functions, and arrays. To foster participant engagement and assess comprehension, the course included a scientific competition using “Kahoot!”.

Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University – Duhok, directly supervised the course and highlighted its importance in building skilled youth. Participants thanked the organizers, noting the course improved their knowledge and programming skills. The initiative reflects the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation’s support for the entire society.

On July 20, 2025, and under the guidance of the President of Cihan University – Duhok, (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad) and with the supervision of lecturers from the Department of Computer Science, a five-day training course titled “Computer Technology & Artificial Intelligence” was successfully concluded. The course began on July 14, 2025, and was organized as part of the “Scientific Zakat Foundation” initiative.

In today’s era known as the information age, data has become one of the most important resources in the world. Millions of gigabytes of new information are created every day, and we need advanced systems and technologies to collect, manage, and analyze this data. This topic highlights the importance and methods of working with data in modern technology.

Data Interpretation: What is data?

Data is a collection of information that has been gathered in the form of numbers, words, images, sounds, or videos. This information can be variable or constant, and it needs to be processed to be useful.

Types of Data

Structured Data:

Organized data arranged in rows and columns.

Modeling:

Customer Data Bank, Employee Information Center.

Unstructured Data:

Data is not of a specific pattern

Sample: Free text, image, video, social media posts

Semi-structured Data:

Overlap between the two

Example: JSON and XML files

Data collection techniques

Traditional data banks

Relational database systems:

Using tables to collect information

SQL time for searching and management

Example: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle

Reasons for the complaint:

1. Transparency and information protection.

2. Simplicity of use.3. Advanced community support.

4. Non-relational databases (NoSQL Databases)

Types of NoSQL:

Document-based: MongoDB, CouchDB
Key-Value: Redis, DynamoDB
Column-family: Cassandra, HBase
Graph: Neo4j, Amazon Neptune
