As part of the activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, and in line with the directives of the University President,( Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad ) , emphasizing the importance of volunteer services and awareness initiatives for all community segments, another lecture was delivered on August 10, 2026. Held within the Technology and Artificial Intelligence Course, the session targeted staff members from the Khani Cultural and Media Center in Duhok specializing in video editing and design. The lecture was presented by ( Mr. Rayan Hashim ) , a member of the university’s media department, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing video editing software
Based on the recommendations of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, to prioritize the volunteer programs of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” (Zakāt of Knowledge) Foundation and to deliver voluntary and developmental services to all segments of society; a course titled “Psychological Awareness, was launched on July 28, 2026, in coordination with the global Frida Organization at the Shariya Complex.
On the first day of the course, the first lecture was delivered by Mr. Badr Jamal Jumaa, a lecturer in the General Education Department, focusing on “How to Deal with Psychological Problems: Causes, Solutions, and Their Relation to Daily Life.
Based on the recommendations of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, to prioritize the volunteer programs of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” (Zakāt of Knowledge) Foundation and to deliver voluntary and developmental services to all segments of society; the activities of the course titled “Psychological Awareness, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence” continue in coordination with the global Frida Organization at the Shariya Complex.
On July 29, 2026, three additional lectures were presented by:
1. Mr. Salar Faisal Nouri: On technology and artificial intelligence.
2. Ms. Sanaa Kareem Mustafa: On how to overcome life problems and paths to happiness.
3. Mr. Hizhar Ali: On the importance of personal development.
The Headship of the Anesthesia Technology Department at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific and awareness visit to Erinkoy Girls’ School on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the link between academic learning and practical application.
The visit involved five students from the Anesthesia Technology Department and was conducted under the supervision of Lab Assistant Mirzan Mustafa Omar, in coordination with the school’s administration and teaching staff. The delegation was warmly received by the school principal, Engineer Arezoo Khalil Kamal, reflecting the spirit of cooperation between educational institutions.
During the visit, an awareness lecture was delivered to eleventh-grade students, introducing the Anesthesia Technology Department and highlighting its vital role in daily life, particularly within operating rooms. The session also covered basic medical topics, including blood pressure measurement methods, blood glucose monitoring, and the use of pulse oximeters, with an emphasis on the importance of healthy lifestyle practices.
The visit also included a practical component, during which school students were trained on how to use the medical devices and were given the opportunity to apply what they learned under direct supervision. The students showed strong interaction and interest throughout the activities, with many expressing enthusiasms for learning more about medical fields in the future.
At the end of the visit, the supervising staff member expressed appreciation to the administration and teaching staff of Erinkoy Girls’ School for their cooperation and warm reception, emphasizing the importance of such activities in promoting health awareness and enhancing students’ educational experiences.
The Department of Anesthesia Technology at the College of Health Technologies, Cihan University–Erbil, organized a scientific and humanitarian visit to Nanakali Hospital on February 2, 2026, with the participation of fourteen first-stage students.
The visit was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Laboratory Technician Mirzan Mustafa Omar, with the participation of Dr. Sara Laith Abduljalil, a general practitioner specializing in hematology and the person in charge of the Hematology Laboratory at Nanakali Hospital.
The visit included a field tour of the hospital facilities, during which students were introduced to several medical departments. During the visit, the students were divided into groups to gain insights into the nature of healthcare work and the mechanisms involved in providing medical care. In addition, they participated in a humanitarian activity that involved distributing gifts to children suffering from cancer. Blue and pink gifts were given to boys and girls, respectively, along with bouquets of flowers and symbolic financial contributions to support their psychological well-being.
The participating students demonstrated positive engagement and enthusiasm throughout the visit, expressing their appreciation for the importance of such activities in shaping their professional and humanitarian character. In turn, the medical and technical staff at Nanakali Hospital showed notable cooperation by guiding and assisting the students during the activity.

Under the directives of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmohsen Asaad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, and as part of the commitment to community awareness and development across various societal groups within the framework of the university’s “Zakat Al-Elm” project, and in coordination with the Peshmerga Cultural Center, the closing ceremony of the specialized First Aid course was held on Monday, July 13, 2026.
The course was conducted for the Medical Field Unit (9th Division) of the Peshmerga forces and presented by Mr. Bassam Showkat, an international trainer and specialist in Anesthesia and Intensive Care.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, certificates of participation and appreciation were distributed to the successful participants, honoring their efforts and highlighting the importance of empowering the brave Peshmerga forces with essential field and emergency medical skills.
On Thursday, July 23, 2026, as part of the diverse activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University-Duhok, and based on the directives of the University President, Professor Dr. Zirvan Abdulmohsen Asaad, to prioritize this program and extend its benefits to various segments of society, the Cihan-Duhok Academy, in cooperation with the Pinus Institute of Languages, organized a scientific and awareness-raising trip for the institute’s students.

As part of the voluntary activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University – Sulaymaniyah, Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachetani, Director of the Center for Psychological and Social Counseling at Cihan University – Sulaymaniyah, delivered a special seminar on July 9, 2026, at the invitation of the Chardoz Organization (CHO), for a group of women with disabilities, individuals with special needs, and the organization’s volunteers.
The seminar, entitled “What Is Happiness and How Can We Achieve It?”, highlighted the key psychological aspects of attaining inner peace and happiness in life. The session focused on practical approaches to promoting psychological well-being and improving quality of life.
At the conclusion of the event, the organization’s director presented Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachetani with a Certificate of Appreciation and a Shield of Gratitude and Recognition in appreciation of his valuable contribution.

As part of the voluntary activities of the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation at Cihan University – Sulaymaniyah, Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachetani, Director of the Center for Psychological and Social Counseling at Cihan University – Sulaymaniyah, participated on July 12, 2026, in organizing a special panel discussion at Draw Media Foundation entitled “The Role of Education in Society.” The event was attended by a distinguished group of educators, specialists, and university professors.
During the panel discussion, participants extensively highlighted the importance of the educational process and its direct impact on building a healthy, well-developed, and progressive society. In the second session, the participants engaged in an open and interactive discussion, exchanging ideas and perspectives that further enriched the topic and strengthened the dialogue on its various dimensions.
Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah ,provide improved psychological and social services, the Director of the Psychological and Social Counseling Center at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya participated in a specialized meeting held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Erbil.
The meeting brought together representatives and heads of psychological and social counseling centers from public and private universities and institutes, alongside representatives from the SEED Foundation and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The main objectives of the meeting included:
Advancing the work and operations of counseling centers across academic institutions.
Enhancing the quality of psychological and social support services provided to students, faculty, and university staff.
