A scientific seminar for inmates at the Sulaimaniyah Correctional Facility

Dr. Mo’min Yasin Muhammad Amin, professor and researcher at Cihan University–Sulaimaniyah, delivered a scientific seminar for the inmates of Sulaimaniyah Correctional Facility, in the presence of Mr. Omar Anwar, Supervisor of the Guidance and Prisoners’ Rehabilitation Department at the Sulaimaniyah Correctional Facility.

The seminar was held in the library hall of the Sulaimaniyah Correctional Facility, with the participation of more than 250 inmates, and was entitled:
“Love of Life and Coexistence: An Intellectual Review of Need and Service.”

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Mo’min Yasin Muhammad Amin addressed the concepts of optimism, love of life, and coexistence. He then spoke about ways to achieve positive thinking, highlighting the impact of a righteous, positive, and life-loving individual on society. He emphasized that optimism is the foundation of the human being, and that personality is shaped by upbringing and values; therefore, no factor should be allowed to undermine this foundation.

In another part of the seminar, the researcher presented a number of studies that demonstrate the positive and effective role of the individual within society, stressing the importance of personal effectiveness, positivity, and the ability—through rational thinking and optimism—to influence various aspects of daily life.

Dr. Mo’min also discussed the concept of “intellectual revisions,” explaining that history is rich with great global figures who achieved success and served humanity through change and intellectual reconsideration, eventually becoming role models to be emulated. He cited historical examples of figures who rose through critical thinking and intellectual review, becoming enduring models of understanding and human awareness.

At the conclusion of the seminar, attendees participated by raising questions and remarks, and the event ended with a rich and interactive dialogue between the lecturer and the participants.
