A Scientific Panel at Cihan University – Duhok on the Iraqi Parliamentary Elections and Strengthening the Federal System

On Monday, May 19, 2025, in the presence of political and governmental figures, representatives of civil society organizations, academics, and students, a scientific panel was held under the title:
“The Iraqi Parliamentary Elections: Between Strengthening the Federal System and Addressing Political Crises”
at the College of Law, Cihan University – Duhok, in cooperation with the Legal Research and Consultation Center at the College of Law – University of Duhok.

The event began with a welcoming speech by Dr. Rebar Hussein, Dean of the College of Law at Cihan University – Duhok. This was followed by an introduction to the goals of the panel presented by Prof. Dr. Afin Khalid Abdulrahman, Dean of the College of Law – University of Duhok.

The panel featured four main sessions moderated by Dr. Dzhwar Ahmed:

  1. First Session: Presented by Dr. Ranjbar Jamil Shekho, Head of the Legal Research and Consultation Center – University of Duhok, discussing the philosophical foundations of the electoral process.
  2. Second Session: Presented by Mr. Khalid Ahmed, head of the Elections Department of the KDP’s Duhok Branch, focusing on mechanisms for candidate nomination.
  3. Third Session: Presented by Dr. Renas Jano, former member of the Iraqi Parliament, on political awareness and activating electoral participation.
  4. Fourth and Final Session: Presented by Dr. Jamal Kocher, current Member of Parliament, evaluating the electoral process through the role and performance of representatives.

At the end of the event, a Q&A and open discussion session was held between the panelists and the attendees.

The students of the Translation Department at the College of Languages and Humanities at Erbil International University, on the occasion of World Translation Day, carried out a number of activities such as translating phrases related to puzzles and translating oral challenges for the visit to London.

The blood draw course for the students of Erbil International University in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at the laboratories of Erbil International University was a training course that started and will continue for several weeks.

This seminar was about artificial intelligence in English translation in the present and past eras.

In the past, translating a book required three people working for a week and three days.
