International Workshop by General education Department to Explore Love and Lust in Hero and Leander’s versions of Marlowe and Chapman

March 26, 2025 – An international workshop, Attitudinal Love and sin in Christopher Marlowe and George Chapman’s Interpretations of Hero and Leander, was held. Organized by the General Education Department at CUS, and moderated by Mr. Muhammed Imad the workshop featured the following key speakers:

  1. Tafan Kamal Kareem (CUS) discussed Marlowe’s version alongside the original myth.
  2. Rezhen Nawzad Latif (University of Sulaimani) explored the biographies of Marlowe and Chapman.
  3. Merhan Anwar Memon (Quaid e Azam University) analyzed Chapman’s version and provided conclusions and recommendations.

Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah ,May 1, 2026, The “Towards Excellence” (Baraw Balla Bun) event, organized by Rozh Institute and primarily sponsored by Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, was held with the attendance of over 2,000 students. During the event, Asst. Lect. Lehat Yousif, Director of Admissions and Registration at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, provided detailed information about the university to the attendees. Following this, the admissions and registration staff distributed gifts and brochures to the students participating in the event.

Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah ،On February 25, 2026, Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachatani, Director of the Psychological and Social Counseling Center at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya, delivered an educational seminar for the students of (Layla Zana Basic School for Girls). The seminar focused on effective study methods, exam preparation, and techniques for overcoming exam-related fear and anxiety.

Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah ,April 28, 2026, Third-year students from the General Education Department at Cihan University–Sulaimaniya translated six children’s books from English into Kurdish and Arabic. The books, originally brought from the UK, were printed and illustrated before being presented as gifts to Grade 2 and 3 pupils at Cihan Private School. Supervised by Ms. Tafan Kamal Karim, the initiative was both productive and heartwarming, bringing joy to the children while enhancing the students’ practical skills.
