The Department of Business Administration Organized a Campaign to Raise Awareness about Food Wastage

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Department of Business Administration held a public awareness campaign focused on reducing food waste. The activity intended to raise community awareness about preventing food wastage.

The campaign was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Hawkar Qasim Birdawod and coordinated by Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qader. For this purpose, the department’s academic staff and students prepared and printed several brochures titled Don’t Waste Food, which included important information and practical tips, such as:

“Save food, save your planet – every bite counts. Take only as much as you can eat, and remember that leftovers matter. Wasting food wastes resources, so think before you throw food away. Don’t waste food; someone else might need it.”

As part of the campaign, some students and supervising lecturers visited Qaysari Bazaar in Erbil, distributing the brochures to shopkeepers, vendors, and citizens, and encouraging them to reduce food waste.

At the end of the campaign, shopkeepers, vendors, and citizens expressed their appreciation to the students for organizing and managing this important awareness activity.
