The Department Of Business Administration Organized a Public Awareness Campaign on Water Conservation and Waste Prevention.

On Monday, October 13, 2025, the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized a public awareness campaign on water conservation and waste prevention.

The campaign, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Hawkar Qasim Pirdawud, Head of the Department, and managed by Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qadir, involved students visiting the Kurdistan (Askari) neighborhood in Erbil City, where they distributed awareness brochures to local residents.

The campaign also extended to the markets and shops within the neighborhood, where brochures were handed out to households, shop owners, and passersby. Citizens were encouraged to use water responsibly, recognizing that water is the source of life.

Prior to the campaign, students of the Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with the academic staff, prepared and printed brochures titled ‘Saving Water, Saving the Planet: Every Drop Counts.’ The brochures included essential information about water conservation, statistics on water saving, and practical tips for reducing daily water consumption. They highlighted, for instance, that wasting a single drop of water can amount to 20 gallons lost per day. The brochures also offered guidelines on efficient water use at home, such as minimizing water waste while brushing teeth, washing dishes, and cleaning household items. The campaign was warmly received by residents, shop owners, and market visitors, who expressed their appreciation and described it as a positive and meaningful initiative.
