Biomedical Sciences Department Students Led a Cancer Awareness Campaign in Erbil

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, second-year students from the Biomedical Sciences Department at Cihan University – Erbil organized a successful community outreach event in honor of Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place every February. The event aimed to increase public knowledge about cancer, with a strong focus on prevention and the importance of early detection.

Held in the downtown area of Erbil, near Parky Shar and the Erbil Citadel, the outreach saw the students actively engaging with the public. They distributed informative brochures that outlined the various types of cancer, provided details on effective prevention strategies, and stressed the significance of early screening.

Their core message centered around the belief that prevention is better than cure, urging individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles and regularly undergo screenings to ensure early diagnosis. Through their efforts, they hoped to make a positive impact on the community by promoting proactive health measures and raising awareness about cancer prevention.
