On October 8, 2025, Erbil International University hosted a workshop titled “AI: Reliable or Unreliable,” organized by the IT and Chemistry Departments under the guidance of Dr. Mohammed Nazar. The event delved into the functioning of artificial intelligence, highlighting its advantages, limitations, and ethical challenges. Attendees gained knowledge about practical AI applications, debunked common myths, and emphasized the necessity of human supervision. The workshop fostered critical thinking among students, encouraged responsible technology use, and offered valuable perspectives on AI’s future impact on education and society.

On July 1, 2025, Dr. Mohamed Nzar, head of the IT department, assembled a team of two exceptional IT students to develop a comprehensive IUE system. This initiative included creating a new official website, an online attendance system, and a platform for subject materials and academic activities accessible to both staff and students. Additionally, the team was tasked with designing a qualified quality assurance (QA) system. Under my continuous supervision, we have steadily progressed in developing and refining this system, and we continue to work on enhancing its functionality and professionalism.

On April 27, 2025, during the major project festival at Cihan University, the head of the IT department provided crucial supervision to undergraduate students working on AI projects. Their guidance ensured that the students applied sound technical principles and innovative approaches to their work. By closely monitoring progress, offering expert advice, and facilitating problem-solving discussions, the supervisor helped maintain high standards of quality and encouraged creative solutions. This mentorship played a vital role in enhancing the students’ learning experience and the overall success of their AI projects at the festival.

On 19/02/2025, the online Meeting with INIT Malysia University for discussion about cooperation in different types of educational activities and cultures specially for IT and technology domains and including the talking about IT projects and AI field intensively. Additional to, discuss about the ability of grant a scholarship for top students’ scores.

This seminar was about artificial intelligence in English translation in the present and past eras.

In the past, translating a book required three people working for a week and three days.

Under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Mohsen Omar, and in collaboration with the University of Kirkuk, babagurgur University organized a distinguished dialogue seminar on 15/9/2025, which lasted for six hours and addressed the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence and its rapidly expanding applications in various domains.

The seminar was attended by a group of prominent figures and academics, aimed at enhancing the role of universities in keeping pace with the digital technology revolution and employing it to serve scientific research and society.

This meeting served as an effective platform for exchanging visions and ideas about the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and opened new horizons for research and practical collaboration between universities.

Establishing and Configuring a Complete Physical Computer Server with Switches and Cabling for One of the Institute’s Computer Labs. Duration: 8 days, daily sessions, starting from September 2025 until completion.

In the continuation of the seminars to prepare the staff of the institute for the new academic year, a seminar on blockchain technology was presented to the teachers.
The seminar was presented on (15/ 9/ 2025) by Gulan Jassim, the staff of the institute and focused on blockchain technology and its innovations and the aspects that can be built on the basis of blockchain in the future.

Within the framework of the seminar, the participants enriched the topic with their comments.

The computer science instructors at Cihan Institute established and configured a complete physical computer server, including switches and cabling, for one of the computer labs at the School of Cihan. The project lasted eight consecutive days, beginning in September 2024 and continuing daily until completion.

Under the supervision of (Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Assad) President of Cihan University – Duhok, the Science of Zakat Foundation launched a web development training course today, Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

The course is conducted by (Mr. Salar Faisal Noori) rapporteur of the Computer Science Department. On the first day, the practical aspects of web development were introduced to the participants. The training will continue for five days
