Following the recommendations of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University–Duhok, the Science Zakat Foundation, in cooperation with the Duhok Directorate of Youth and Sports, launched a free English course for 65 young men and women.

The course started on July 20, 2025, and aims to help participants improve their English for better study and job opportunities.

It is led by Assistant Lecturer Husam Nazar Rashid from the English Department and includes daily lessons for one week, during which different methods of learning English will be clearly explained to the participants

The English language course organized by the Literacy Center at Cihan University – Duhok concluded on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The course was held based on the recommendation of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of the University, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the center’s role in serving the community and improving the participants’ language skills

The College of Law at the University of the World – Sulaymaniyah, in cooperation with the Directorate of Guidance and Ethical Leadership in Sulaymaniyah, held a seminar on the methods and techniques of scientific research writing for a group of officers from the Traffic Directorate in Sulaymaniyah at the seminar hall of the Traffic Directorate in Sulaymaniyah. The importance of knowing how to write scientific research was discussed as one of the requirements for promotion for officers in the Ministry of Interior.

As part of its ongoing volunteer initiatives to support education and empower individuals, Science Zakat Foundation-Duhok launched a free English language course titled:

“Practice English with Dr. Bala”

on Saturday, June 14, 2025, running through June 18, 2025.

The course is delivered by Dr. Bala Ghandran, a professor in the Department of General Education, and focuses on enhancing practical English communication skills for daily life and professional settings.

The training covered the following key topics:

✅ Everyday conversations

✅ Job interviews

✅ Workplace communication

✅ Public speaking and presentations

On June 18, 2025, the closing ceremony was held for the English language course titled:

“Practice English with Dr. Bala”

The course began on Saturday, June 14, 2025, and ran for five days with the participation of individuals eager to improve their language skills.

Led by Dr. Bala Chandran, lecturer in the Department of General Education, the course focused on strengthening English communication skills for both daily life and professional environments.

Key topics covered included:

✅ Everyday conversations

✅ Job interview preparation

✅ Workplace communication

✅ Public speaking and presentation skills

The course concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation

The English Department continues its English course, with a strong focus on developing students’ speaking skills. The course is designed to help participants build confidence, improve fluency, and engage in real-life conversations through

interactive and practical sessions

Took place within the activities of the Universal Institute, on the date (10/4/2025), in the framework of the scientific Zakat project, aimed at the staff of the institute. The seminar was presented by M. Souzan Awla, a trainer and educational supervisor, as well as the operational manager of the scientific center. It discussed students with special needs and specialized education in general, particularly focusing on sign language, which is specifically for deaf individuals, and how education and training are provided to deaf students.


The goal is to build bridges and learn about different cultures، which is the key to development.
On 2/6/2025, we participated in the Chinese Language and Culture Activity Day, which was held at the Culture Hall of Salahaddin University.

An outstanding training workshop was held at Babagurgur University in collaboration with the Umbrella Center for Development and Training on February 22, 2025, attended by a group of faculty members and administrative and academic staff, as part of a program that combines vocational training and cultural celebration.

The workshop included two main activities:

The first paragraph: It was dedicated to the development of management skills, where lectures and practical workshops were presented that addressed modern management methods, work organization, and institutional performance improvement, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of the university’s workforce.

• The second paragraph: It was held in celebration of International Mother Language Day, and it included words and discussions that focused on the importance of preserving linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as promoting linguistic identity in educational environments. This event added a special cultural aspect to the workshop, enhancing the interaction of the attendees.

This workshop represents a model for the integration of professional development and cultural awareness, and embodies the university’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its staff and engaging with meaningful international events.
