On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the second day of the training, Ms. Fatima Ali Ayada, a psychology instructor at the Directorate of Education in Naynawa, and Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Hamid Al-Salami, a lecturer at Cihan University–Erbil, presented several topics related to mental health. Ms. Fatima highlighted the importance of mental health in academic success, explaining that it directly affects students’ ability to focus, learn, and manage stress. She also emphasized that good mental health helps students develop a balanced personality and enhances their ability to interact positively with society, which contributes to social stability and peace.
Dr. Qusay then discussed the development of digital technology and explained how artificial intelligence tools can support the mental health of university students through applications and intelligent systems. He noted that these tools can help monitor students’ emotional conditions, provide personalized guidance and support, and enable early recognition of mental stress. He also emphasized their role in increasing mental health awareness in line with the digital era.
On the third day of the course, Thursday, January 22, 2026, Ms. Batool Abbas Fadhl, a psychology instructor at the Directorate of Education in Naynawa, spoke about the importance of maintaining mental health among university students. She explained that this can be achieved through effective time management and building strong social relationships. Following this, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Salahaddin Mohammed, a lecturer at Cihan University–Erbil, clarified the ethical and legal aspects of artificial intelligence. He explained how AI can be used responsibly and correctly in scientific research.
The training course focused on the foundations of mental health, coping with mental stress, and understanding emotional challenges. It also addressed practical ways students can protect and maintain their mental well-being. The topics were presented in a scientific and practical manner through discussions, real-life examples, and practical exercises. The main aim of the course was to raise students’ awareness and enhance their ability to care for their mental health.
At the end of the course, Assistant Professor Dr. Hawkar Qasim Pirdawod, Head of the Business Administration Department, awarded certificates of participation to the students and participants.
Through organizing and completing this course, the Head of the Business Administration Department at Cihan University–Erbil emphasized that such scientific and social activities are a key part of the university’s strategy to create a healthy, peaceful, and supportive environment for students.
On Saturday, January 25, Cihan University – Duhok organized a scientific visit under the Scientific Zakat Project, in coordination with the university’s medical laboratories, for 25 fourth-stage students from Duhok Computer Institute. During the visit, important information about all departments and colleges of the university was presented. The students were then given a tour of the university library and various academic departments to familiarize them with the educational environment and facilities. Afterward, a seminar was delivered by Mr. Riyan Sadiq on “Initial First Aid Procedures,” providing the students with valuable introductory knowledge in emergency response.
The program also included a visit to the Kurdish House, where its cultural and academic significance was introduced to the distinguished guests. At the end of the visit, a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.


On Saturday, January 18, Cihan University – Duhok organized a scientific visit under the Scientific Zakat Project, in coordination with the Department of Computer Science, for 50 students from Charastin Institute. During the visit, important information about all departments and colleges of the university was presented. The students were then given a comprehensive tour of the university’s academic departments to familiarize them with the educational environment and available facilities. Afterward, a seminar was delivered by Mr. Bilal Hikmat, providing valuable academic insights to the visiting students. The program also included a visit to the Kurdish House, where its cultural and academic significance was introduced to the distinguished guests. At the conclusion of the visit, a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.

During the visit, important information about all departments and colleges of the university was presented. The students were then given a tour of the university’s academic departments to become more familiar with the educational environment and facilities. Afterward, a seminar was delivered by Mr. Khalid Ibrahim. Another seminar was presented in the Cihan Courtroom Hall by Dr. Rêber Hussein Yousif, Dean of the College of Law. The program also included a visit to the Kurdish House, where its cultural and academic significance was introduced to the distinguished guests. At the end of the visit, a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.


Under the patronage and guidance of the University President, Professor Dr. Ziravan Abdulmohsen Asaad, and under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Huda Mahmood Hassan, on Sunday 22/02/2026, the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences organized a scientific visit to the Shiryan Hospital Laboratory. This visit was part of the department’s scientific activities aimed at enhancing students’ practical skills and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and laboratory application.
During the visit, students learned about the operation of modern laboratory equipment, the steps involved in conducting laboratory tests, and the quality and safety standards adopted in medical laboratories. This contributed to developing their scientific and professional skills.
This visit is part of the department’s ongoing plan to support the educational process and prepare students for the job market by providing them with direct exposure to a real work environment.

The closing ceremony for the vital signs training course on blood pressure measurement at the College of Nursing was held on July 23, 2024. The course focused on mastering the skill of measuring blood pressure. During the session, students were introduced to the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system and learned how blood pressure is regulated within the body. Participants practiced using both manual and automated blood pressure monitors, ensuring accurate readings for patients of all ages. In addition to practical skills, students participated in discussions on interpreting blood pressure readings and understanding the implications of both high and low blood pressure readings.


Within the framework of volunteer work for the Zakat Al-Ilm foundation at Cihan University Sulaimaniyah, On 16/2/2026, Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachitani, Director of the Psychological and Social Counselling Centre at Cihan University – Sulaimaniya, presented a seminar on the importance of the relationship between family and school at Sherko Bekas High School for parents of twelfth-grade students. The seminar was attended by a large number of parents, and opportunities were provided for attendees to ask questions and exchange information. February 11, 2026 In alignment with the community service and educational activities of Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, Professor Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachatani delivered a specialized seminar for the students of Khanzad High School for Girls on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The seminar, titled “The Art of Success and Overcoming Exam Stress,” provided students with scientific methods to manage anxiety and enhance focus. The session aimed to psychologically prepare students for their upcoming exams and strengthen their academic resilience.

On February 4, 2026, Professor Mellat Hussein Mustafa, Head of the Radiography Technology Department, and Ms. Nian Anwar Hamdamin, an employee of the Registration, conducted a training workshop for a group of university staff and teaching assistants as part of the Knowledge Zakat Program. The workshop focused on how to effectively use Google Drive to store academic and administrative books and files, ensuring easy access, protection from loss, and professional organization.
