The Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation, in collaboration with the College of Nursing at Cihan University – Duhok, launched a specialized training course tailored for physicians and nurses in Duhok. This initiative was implemented based on the recommendation of Professor Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University – Duhok, and under the supervision of Dr. Layla Muhammad Saleh, Dean of the College of Nursing
As part of the collaborative efforts between Qalaa University College and the (وەعی) Center for Empowerment and Counseling of the Sunni Waqf Office, on May 20.
At the beginning, Mr. Ahmed Jamil Majeed Al-Mudaris, the head of the Wa’i Center, gave a speech in Arabic, then P.E. Dr. amanj Ali, Dean of Qala University College, delivered a speech. Following that, the research was presented by the researchers, and the forum was enhanced with discussions by teachers and academics. Finally, the researchers were awarded certificates of participation and honor.
On the eighteenth of May at Qala College, in collaboration with Erbil International University and the Charity of Knowledge Authority, and in the presence of Dr. Nawzad Bajgar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qala College, along with a large number of teachers, students, guests, and media, the Charity of Knowledge Forum was held at our university, where welcoming speeches were delivered and several activities were presented by Dr. Ayem, Dean of Qala College.
Dr. Nawzad Bajgar then highlighted the role and objectives of the Scientific Authority for Zakat in general, and the topics of the scientific and voluntary campaign for Zakat in particular.
He was later honored with a medal of honor by Dr. Nawzad Bajgar, one of the teachers at Qala College and Erbil International University.
Today, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Cihan University-Sulaymaniya, the Sulaymaniya Endowments Directorate, and the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars of Kurdistan. This memorandum was signed in the presence of Prof. Dr. Omed Rafiq Fatah, President of Cihan University-Sulaymaniya, Mullah Abbas Khidr Faraj, Director of the Sulaymaniya Endowments Directorate, and Mullah Najm al-Din Qader Rahim, Head of the Sulaymaniya Branch of the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars of Kurdistan.
The meeting, which took place at Cihan University-Sulaymaniya, was attended by several religious and academic instructors, including Assist. Prof. Dr. Sadat Abdullah Aziz, Assistant to the University President; Prof. Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachetani, Director of the Psychological and Social Counseling Center; Assist. Prof. Dr. Nuri Hama Said, Director of the Science Zakat Institute; and Assist. Lect. Besoz Tofiq, Director of Public Relations at Cihan University-Sulaymaniya.
During the signing of the memorandum, emphasis was placed on the importance of collaborative work between academic institutions, governmental institutions, and religious organizations for the development of society and the advancement of humanity in various fields. This memorandum represents an important step toward strengthening relationships between academic and religious institutions to serve the community

A number of students and professors from Babagurgur University participated in a volunteer initiative to plant a variety of plants within the campus on May 20, 2025, as part of efforts to enhance environmental awareness and encourage interest in green spaces.
The initiative aimed to add an aesthetic touch to the university environment and enhance the spirit of teamwork and responsibility towards preserving nature, due to the positive impact of green spaces on mental health and the overall scene.
This step is part of a series of environmental activities through which the university aims to instill a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness in the minds of students and the university community in general.



Babagurgur University participated in the first seminar organized by the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation, as part of the scientific and cultural collaboration between academic and community institutions.
The seminar aimed to discuss contemporary scientific and cultural issues, highlighting the role of educational institutions in supporting knowledge and raising awareness. The university’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing scientific communication and encouraging constructive academic dialogue that serves both students and the community.

With the support of the Presidency of Babagurgur University and in coordination with the Shwan District Directorate, 400 seedlings of mulberry trees were prepared with the aim of afforesting the district and enhancing green spaces in it.
The event was attended by several directors of official departments and local dignitaries, in a step that reflects the spirit of cooperation between the university and the local community, and supports sustainable environmental initiatives aimed at improving environmental quality and preserving natural resources.

An interactive meeting was held at Babagurgur University on March 16, 2025, with a group of students, which included an awareness lecture that addressed important topics related to the educational process and student rights.
The meeting also included listening to the students’ opinions and discussing the challenges they face on campus, where they were given the opportunity to freely raise their issues and exchange ideas with administrative representatives.
In addition, proposals from students regarding the improvement of the quality of education and the university services provided were received, with the aim of working to develop the university environment and make it more suitable for their needs.
This meeting comes as part of enhancing communication between students and the administration, and the continuous effort to improve the academic and service environment in a way that serves the interests of students and motivates them towards excellence and distinction.


As part of its efforts to enhance community communication and reinforce the culture of higher education, Babagurgur University hosted a group of high school and preparatory students as part of an awareness and educational program aimed at introducing them to the university environment and encouraging them to continue their academic journey with confidence and awareness.
The program included an introductory tour of the university facilities, covering lecture halls and scientific laboratories, in addition to awareness and scientific lectures delivered by several university faculty members, addressing topics related to choosing a university major, learning skills, and the importance of education in building the future.
The visit aimed to raise students’ awareness of their academic and cultural future, preparing them psychologically and intellectually for the transition to university life, in an interactive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and constructive questions.
This initiative comes as part of the university’s efforts to serve the community and guide students towards informed scientific choices that match their abilities and interests.
