Department of General Education has opened a course on human development for a number of Cihan College School students. On 22/7/2024, Within the framework of the Center of Zakat Al-Ilm, the Department of General Education at Cihan University – Duhok has opened a one-week course on human development and personality growth for a number of Cihan College School students. The course covers subjects like education, psychology, personality development, upbringing, and English language. Lectures were given by professors: Mr. Ali Abdel Qader, about despair and ambition. – Mr. Muhammad Faisal, about the basics of learning the English language.
On (25/6/2023), and under the preparation of Mr. (Ph.D. Zirvan Abdulmohsen Asaad), University President, Mr. (Teacher Saman Mustafa), Assistant General Director of Education in Duhok Governorate, and Mr. (Teacher Hasan Chalabi), Director of Education in Simele District, a two-month training course was launched to enhance students’ skills in English, educational and personal leadership, and computer skills. The course included 115 students from grades 10, 11, and 12 in the General Education Department, within the framework of Zakata Scientific Center’s program.
The University President expressed his appreciation to the participating teachers and emphasized that Cihan University continues to provide valuable educational and developmental services to youth from all social groups, through Zakata Scientific Center.
The Assistant General Director of Education and the Director of Education in Simele District also extended thanks and recognition to the University leadership and teachers for their support and contributions to student training and skill development.
At the end of the two-month program, participation certificates were awarded to the students.
On (15/6/2023), as a result of the efforts and activities of Zakata Scientific Center under the supervision of Mr. (Ph.D. Zirvan Abdulmohsen Asaad), University President, a two-month human development course was launched to enhance the skills of religious teachers in Duhok District. The course included 80 mosque preachers and was coordinated with the General Directorate of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Duhok Governorate.
The course featured a documentary film about the daily activities, along with several lectures and workshops, under the supervision of Mr. (Teacher Mohammed Khalid Mohammed), General Director of Endowments and Religious Affairs, who expressed his thanks to the University leadership and the supervising committee, highlighting the importance of supporting and guiding teachers, with the hope that participants would benefit in engaging with the community and taking on leadership roles.
Additionally, the Duhok Endowments Directorate and some scholars delivered congratulatory and appreciative remarks to the participants. At the end of the two-month course, participation certificates were distributed to the religious teachers
On (4/7/2023), a two-month fencing course was launched as part of the Sports Club activities at Cihan University-Duhok. Participation certificates were awarded to all students of Cihan University-Duhok.
The statement emphasized that Cihan University-Duhok continues to promote science and knowledge among all youth, and that sports are considered one of the important aspects to which the university gives great importance.
On (20/7/2023), Zakata Scientific Center conducted this course to support learning and development, under the supervision of Mr. (Ph.D. Zirvan Abdulmohsen Asaad), prepared by Mr. (Ph.D. Byar Mohammed Rashid Omar), Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, Mr. Mohammed Khalid Mohammed, General Director of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Duhok Governorate, and teacher Mullah Jalal, Director of Endowments in Simele, along with a number of religious teachers.
The two-month human development course was conducted for 50 religious teachers from daily religious lectures and lasted for two weeks at Zakata Scientific Center at Cihan University-Duhok. Over 500 people benefited from various sessions aimed at skill and knowledge development.
The course was coordinated with the General Directorate of Endowments in Duhok Governorate and focused on developing religious teachers across all districts. It covered topics such as religion, national and social issues, family matters, countering violent extremism, preventing unconscious crimes, social media, and more.
Within the framework of the program (20/7/2023) at Zakata Scientific Center, under the supervision of Mr. (Ph.D. Byar Mohammed Rashid Omar), Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, a two-month English conversation course was held for 25 participants from the General Education Department. The course was guided by instructor (Dr. Khalid Ibrahim) and lasted for two weeks. Several theoretical and practical lessons were presented daily, and additional opportunities were provided for participants to practice dialogues and communication in English. After the program, participation certificates were distributed to the trainees.
On Wednesday, 14/6/2023, the “Job Performance Development Course” was concluded, with the participation of many employees and graduates from various government departments and the private sector.
The course was organized by the Department of Business Administration, in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science and the Department of English Language at Cihan University–Duhok, under the supervision of the Zakat Al-Ilm Charitable Foundation.
Several distinguished instructors from the three mentioned departments participated by giving lectures, and the course was considered very successful and effective.

As part of the ongoing implementation of the Scientific Zakat Center’s program at Cihan University–Duhok and in service of government institutions, a Computer Skills Enhancement Course has been opened for a number of employees of the Duhok Police Directorate. The course is provided by instructors from the Department of Computer Science, covering different computer programs and levels, with the goal of supporting administrative work, improving services, processing transactions, and facilitating daily tasks.

Following the directives of Prof. Dr. Zirvan Abdulmuhsin Asaad, the President of the University, Cihan University–Duhok proudly launched the planned program designated for the university community regarding the Zakat of Knowledge initiative.
Today, 23-5-2023, the College of General Education opened a strengthening course for 40 students from the 11th and 12th grades in the Hawshke area. The course will continue for one month, during which many important lessons, subjects, and topics will be presented.
The purpose of founding the Zakat of Knowledge Center
(Zakat Al-‘Ilm)
is to provide voluntary services by the lecturers of Cihan University–Duhok, each in their field of expertise. The voluntary work includes offering courses, workshops, and seminars in various areas such as (languages, education, psychology, development, computer and information technology, medicine, engineering, accounting, etc.).
Efforts will be made to ensure that all talents and social groups benefit from the Zakat of Knowledge.
Cihan University – Duhok, on 15/8/2022, continuing a course entitled: “Nursing Course”, by the College of Health Science of Cihan University – Duhok, which will last for 7 days, which was an overview of basic first aid, and what it contained. The course’s program and themes were discussed. After completing the course, the participants will receive certificates of participation in the mentioned course
