Today, on 15/8/2022, the Information Technology Course is ongoing at Cihan University–Duhok. This course is being presented by the Information Technology Center.

Following the directives of the President of Cihan University–Duhok, Prof. Dr. Zirvan Abdulmuhsin Asaad, regarding dedicating the 7th and 8th months of the summer vacation to opening training courses and developing various social talents and skills—especially for youth—today, 20/7/2022, an English language course was launched under the title “Cultural Literacy in English: Communication and Fundamentals of the English Language.”

The course is presented by Dr. Nawroz Ramazan Khalil, Head of the English Department, and will continue for two weeks.

This effort is part of the main principles of the Cihan Educational Organization, based on the concept known in Arabic as “Zakat al-‘Ilm” (the charity of knowledge). This is the sixth course to be conducted, and the participation of Cihan University–Duhok instructors in this charitable project is a source of pride. Their dedication and service are greatly appreciated and respected.

On 19/6/2022, an extension of the plan and program prepared by the World Education Organization, under the supervision of the Presidency of Cihan University–Duhok, represented by Professor Dr. Zirvan Abdulmuhsin Asaad, President of the University, began implementing an awareness course for a number of ranked officers, employees, and correctional staff. This was done in cooperation with the General Directorate of Zarka Correction, supervised by Dean of Corrections: Mohammed Hassan Mohammed.

The awareness course will continue for two weeks, covering several related topics (psychological counseling, developing the skills of psychological counselors, educational aspects, the role of the counselor in building personality, criminological psychology, etc.).

The first lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Saber Zebari, a lecturer in the Faculty of General Education at Cihan University–Duhok, about Ariana Psychological Pressure. He explained that when a person is exposed to a stressful situation, they may experience psychological pressure. He also discussed how individuals under such pressure must make significant efforts to control themselves to avoid inappropriate or harmful behavior. Lack of self-control (emotional outbursts) can lead to negative consequences.

The lecturers of Cihan University – Duhok continue implementing the plan of the Cihan Educational Foundation:

Based on the instructions of the President of Cihan University – Duhok, Dr. Zervan Abdulmohsen Asaad,
and at the request of the university administration, the Cihan Educational Foundation has been assigned
to open a Keyboard Typing Skills Course for university employees, delivered by the Cihan University staff.

(27/6/2022), under the supervision of Dr. Zervan Abdulmohsen Asaad, President of the University, and with the attendance of a number of department heads, lecturers, and staff members, the Cihan Educational Foundation concluded the English language course, which was presented by Dr. Bala Chandra and continued for two weeks.
Following the successful completion of the course, participation certificates were awarded to all attendees.

In his speech, the University President congratulated the participants and expressed appreciation to the organizers and instructors of the course. He emphasized that the Cihan Educational Foundation at Cihan University – Duhok will continue to advance and support the development of individuals who are knowledgeable and capable.
He further pointed out that the most important factor in achieving any goal is the individual’s own effort—continuous work on self-development and perseverance in all circumstances to reach one’s desired objectives.

After that, several participants shared their reflections on the course days and the benefits they gained from it.

(2-7-2022), under the supervision of Dr. Zervan Abdulmohsen Asaad, the President of the University, and with the attendance of Dr. Biyar Mohammed Rashid Omar, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, the closing ceremony of the courses (Learning English and Arabic letters, reading words) and (Basics of Mathematics and English) was held.
These courses were provided for 84 children between the ages of 5 and 16, organized by the Cihan Educational Foundation – Cihan University Duhok, in coordination with the YPO organization, and continued for a full month.

On this occasion, the University President reaffirmed the university’s readiness to support any educational and training activity aimed at serving all social groups (students, youth, women, employees, institutions, the general public, etc.), noting that trainings, cultural seasons, courses, and seminars will continue throughout the coming weeks and months.

The Vice President also expressed appreciation and gratitude to the organizing team, especially the course instructors, and congratulated all participating children, wishing them continued success. He also emphasized the important role that educational institutions—and especially families—play in nurturing and shaping an intelligent and aware generation, highlighting that this responsibility ultimately falls on those who raise and teach children.

Afterward, Mr. Safar Ayoob, the representative of the partner organization, extended thanks and respect to the university presidency and the Cihan Educational Foundation for their continuous support in serving all segments of society.

At the end of the ceremony, participation certificates were distributed to the children.

(15/6/2022), the lectures delivered by the lecturers of Cihan University – Duhok continued for
the teaching staff of Cihan College School. The lecture was presented by Ms. Wafaa Ali, instructor
in the Psychology Department.

The lecture covered the causes and methods of treating psychological and behavioral problems in
children, such as duality, introversion, anger, shyness and social anxiety, fear, and low self-confidence.

Issues related to behavioral difficulties were also discussed, including (aggressive behavior, theft, lying, phobias, and others).
In addition, several classroom challenges faced by children were highlighted—those that teachers notice directly—along with proposed solutions and guidance to help resolve these issues.

The President of Cihan University – Duhok, close to the announcement regarding the work status of the
Cihan Educational Charity Foundation, today (30/5/2022) and with the aim of enhancing and supporting
Cihan University – Duhok to develop the university staff in various fields, visited the participants of the
Online Excel Sheet course, which was opened by the Cihan Educational Charity Foundation for 25
teachers and employees, under the supervision of Dr. Saad Ahmed, and it will continue for three consecutive days.

On 2025/11/25 under the program of scientific zakat, the Department of Computer Sciences conducted a scientific workshop under the supervision of Ms. (M.H. Dozdar Mahdi Ahmad) Teachers, students and teachers and students of Mitan Non-Governmental Institute where several seminars, projects and scientific discussions were explained.
The aim of the scientific workshop was to develop the participants’ ability to analyze a set of data in a systematic manner and communicate ideas effectively using the best visual methods, as well as implement the basic principles and prepare data for verification and accuracy Finally, the teachers and students were congratulated and certificates were distributed.

As part of the “Zakat Al-Ilm” initiative, and under the direction of the President of Cihan University – Duhok, Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, the College of Pharmacy organized an awareness visit to Nojdar English Private School on 29/11/2025.
The visit aimed to enhance health awareness among primary school students through simplified activities focusing on the importance of personal hygiene and the prevention of head lice, as essential and general information for school health.

The activities included easy-to-understand explanations of daily habits that help children maintain good hygiene, as well as guidance on methods of preventing head lice and dealing with it safely should it occur—emphasizing that it is a common health issue that can be easily avoided through awareness and proper practices.

At the end of the visit, the College of Pharmacy expressed its gratitude to the school administration for their cooperation and warm reception, appreciating their support for educational programs that promote students’ health and well-being.
