International Academic Collaboration and Research Exchange

The experience of Mr. M. Hemin Osman, Director of the cihan Educational Society in Sulaymaniyah, who visited this country and toured numerous educational centers, was shared. This culminated in a valuable seminar for community teachers, featuring special discussions and debates on the subject.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between Cihan University-Erbil and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region, a university staff member has arrived in Wuxi, China. This initiative aims to provide academic and administrative staff with training and firsthand exposure to the advancements achieved by the People’s Republic of China across various sectors.

In a significant step toward expanding its involvement in international scientific forums and activities, Ms. Washan Nabaz Hamad, a staff member at Cihan University-Erbil, represented the university at an international seminar held in Wuxi. The seminar, titled “Value-Added of Fishery Resources, Production Development, and Market System Construction for Developing Countries,” focused on knowledge exchange, innovation, and expertise sharing to promote sustainable development in the global fishery sector.

This important event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China in collaboration with the Freshwater Fisheries Research Center, affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences.

Cihan University-Erbil takes great pride in this international engagement and reaffirms its commitment to advancing initiatives that expose its students, faculty, and staff to global developments across a range of disciplines.

Babagurgur University participated in the first seminar organized by the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation, as part of the scientific and cultural collaboration between academic and community institutions.

The seminar aimed to discuss contemporary scientific and cultural issues, highlighting the role of educational institutions in supporting knowledge and raising awareness. The university’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing scientific communication and encouraging constructive academic dialogue that serves both students and the community.

As a new step, under China’s National Education Program in Iraq, Cihan University-Erbil has teamed up with the Chinese Consulate in the Kurdistan Region to highlight China’s progress for developing nations. Over the past months, three delegations from Cihan University and its related institutions have traveled to China. Both sides have agreed to continue these exchanges in the future.

The delegated team of Cihan University-Erbil—including professors, administrative staff, accountants, and managers joined this new Chinese bilateral education program in Iraq. During their month-long stay in China, they took part in conferences, hands-on workshops, training courses, and scientific exchange sessions organized by top Chinese universities and research centers. Throughout these activities, the Cihan teams focused on learning China’s strategies for success in education, research, and national development. They studied how China achieved rapid progress in fields like science, technology, education, and infrastructure. By exploring real-world case studies and best practices, the delegates gained fresh insights into the steps and policies that drive a country forward. This firsthand experience helped Cihan University-Erbil’s staff understand both the level of development China has reached and the paths other developing nations can follow to achieve similar success.

Upon completing their courses, Cihan University-Erbil’s professors, researchers, and staff not only presented the university’s emblem to various Chinese institutions but also received certificates of participation. During their journey, they visited several research centers and saw firsthand and high level of development in China. They also toured a number of cultural, historical, and tourist sites. This exchange not only enhances the academic and professional skills of Cihan University Erbil’s team but also builds a strong foundation for long-term academic cooperation between Chinese institutions and Cihan University-Erbil.
