Monday 21-4-2025, Professor Dr. Karim Sharif Qarachatani, Director of the Counseling and Psychological Center at Cihan University-Sulaimani, presented an educational and psychological seminar. This seminar was organized for students of grades ten (10) and eleven (11) at the International Cihan Community.
During the seminar, Dr. Karim Sharif highlighted:

Guidelines to help students overcome the fears and anxieties they face
To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, and to enhance the skills of students and the community, the Department of Community Health Nursing at Cihan University-Erbil organized an intensive training course on First Aid and Principles of Nursing Practice. This training course, which commenced on Sunday, July 6, 2025, was held over a period of five days.
The course curriculum, which comprised a total of 15 practical hours conducted at the advanced laboratories of the aforementioned department, covered several critical topics. These included: the fundamentals of first aid, management of shock, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), burns, choking, bleeding, and seizures, as well as methods for handling fractures and accidents. Additionally, participants received hands-on training in measuring vital signs, IV cannulation, administering injections, and the principles of wound dressing and suturing.
It was open to and attended by a number of students from Cihan University-Erbil and other institutions. This opportunity allowed participants to gain first-hand familiarity with applied nursing sciences and to acquire the essential skills needed to manage emergency and unexpected situations.
The training course concluded with a formal ceremony held in the university’s VIP Hall on Thursday, July 10, 2025. During the event, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul-Sattar Abdul-Karim, the Vice President of the University for Administrative and Student Affairs, distributed the official certificates of completion to the participants. This was done in recognition of their efforts and dedication, and to encourage them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in service of the community

As part of its scientific and awareness activities, Babagurgur University organized a discussion forum titled ‘Health Insurance’, presented by Professor Rezhin Qasim Rashad on June 12, 2025.
The episode highlighted the concept of health insurance, its importance in ensuring medical care for individuals, and reducing the financial burdens resulting from treatment, in addition to reviewing the types of health insurance and how it operates in different systems.
The episode also discussed the role of health insurance in promoting health equity and achieving social stability and witnessed interaction from the students and attendees through discussion and asking questions.

As part of its scientific and awareness activities, Babagurgur University organized a discussion session title “Vibrio cholerae”, presented by Professor Souz Samad on June 12, 2025.
The episode discussed the topic of the bacteria that causes cholera (Vibrio cholerae), highlighting its characteristics, modes of transmission, symptoms of the disease it causes, and methods of prevention and treatment. The importance of hygiene and sanitation in reducing the spread of cholera was also discussed.

The Department of Physical Therapy at Babagurgur University organized a practical field visit to one of the specialized physical therapy centers on May 23, 2025, with the participation of a group of students from the department and under the supervision of several faculty members.
The visit aimed to enable students to gain direct exposure to the professional work environment, familiarize themselves with the devices and techniques used in therapy sessions, in addition to observing clinical cases and methods of assessment and rehabilitation.
This step is part of the training plan of the department, aimed at enhancing the practical aspect for students, linking theoretical knowledge with real-world application, which contributes to preparing qualified and capable staff in the field of physical therapy.

As part of its scientific and awareness activities, Babagurgur University organized a distinguished discussion panel titled ‘The Difference Between Dietary Supplements and Medicines’, presented by Professor Azmar Shiraz Talabani, on April 30, 2025.
The episode addressed the essential differences between dietary supplements and medications in terms of composition, usage, side effects, and the mechanisms of health regulation and oversight for each.
