On July 01, 2025, As part of the Science Zakat Foundation’s initiatives, and in collaboration with the Department of Anesthesia, the third and final day of the “Emergency Response, First Aid, and CPR” training course is taking place today.
The program is conducted under the supervision of (Dr. Mohamad A.M. Saleh) and (Mr. Bassam Shawkat), who have served as lead trainers throughout the course.
This initiative is designed to strengthen participants’ hands-on skills in managing medical emergencies. It reflects a continued commitment to professional development and to equipping university staff with the tools needed for fast and effective response in critical, real-world situations.
The course was delivered by Dr. Layla Mohammed Salih and aimed to enhance the emergency preparedness of academic teaching staff. Participants received comprehensive instruction covering both theoretical foundations and hands-on practical training in managing medical emergencies effectively.
It is a method of psychotherapy through which we can treat a person suffering from a specific mental condition or a mental illness. We discussed the history of using this therapeutic method, and how doctors and experts in the field of music thought of using this therapeutic approach. We pointed out the methods through which we can utilize this treatment, as well as the diseases that can be treated through music. There are various types of music in schools that are used and emphasized. Finally, we talked about music therapy for individuals with autism and discussed how to discover and support the talents and potential abilities of these individuals through music. We concluded the seminar with a performance of a musical piece by Erik Satie.

The Scientific Zakat Institute at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya, in partnership with the Architecture Engineering Department, organized a workshop on Saturday (16/8/2025) entitled: “Safety and Health in Construction Projects” for the staff and employees of Suly Hills Company at the Snobar City Project. The workshop consisted of two sessions. The first session was entitled: “Safety in Construction Projects and Methods of Controlling and Reducing Risks” presented by the (Eng. Dyari Burhan Hussein), lecturer in the Architecture Engineering Department at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya. The second session was entitled: “First Aid in Emergency Situations” presented by the (Hawre Salih Aziz), Emergency Nurse, Certified Medical Trainer and student at the Health Science College at Cihan University-Sulaimaniya. (Assist. Prof. Dr. Nuri Hama Said) was the panel moderator. It is worth mentioning that a significant number of engineers, officials and workers of the aforementioned company were present. Later, certificates of appreciation from the university presidency were awarded to the activity instructors.
