today, Monday, (5/5/2025), with the presence of Abdullah Mahmoud, Minister of Martyrs and Missing Persons, Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajer, Head of the University Security Forces and Global Higher Education Institutions, and the heads of several universities and scientific and academic institutions, as well as government officials and academics at the Cihan University Conference Hall in Erbil. In part of the meeting, Dr. Nawzad Bajer, the initiator of the Scientific Charity Foundation, referred to the goal and vision of the foundation, which revolves around supporting science, noting that so far about 600 academics support this foundation, with the aim of reaching one million supporters within a year. During the meeting, the teachers Haval Najat and Shwan Muzafar, who provide administrative assistance to the foundation, participated. The Scientific Charity Foundation, at the beginning of its establishment, has been actively working in this field as one of the founders of the initiative.

A distinguished cultural symposium titled ‘Our Future is One’ was organized at our university on January 27, 2025, under the auspices of the Future Makers Organization of Iraq, in collaboration with the academic and administrative staff of the university.
The seminar aimed to promote concepts of national unity and empower youth to actively contribute to building the future of Iraq through knowledge, work, and cooperation among various components of society. The seminar included a series of interactive lectures and discussions that highlighted the role of students in achieving sustainable development and spreading a culture of tolerance and belonging.
The seminar witnessed a wide attendance from students and faculty members, and contributed to reinforcing positive values and encouraging the spirit of initiative and teamwork in a motivating university environment.
Under the supervision and coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Secretariat of Cihan University, practical steps have been initiated to develop the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region.
Based on the recommendations and proposals presented at the previous ministry meeting, and on the date of 2/3/2025, and under the direct supervision of the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Head of the Secretariat of Cihan Universities, Institutes, and Schools, along with staff from both sides;
On Saturday, 9/3/2025, a significant and joint meeting was held at the Ministry’s office between the Technical and Media Coordination Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources — which included a group of advisors, media officials, and administrators — and a team from the Secretariat of Cihan University, Institutes, and Schools, including the Director of Cihan Educational Institution, the Director of Cihan Institute, and the Director of the Office of the Head of the Secretariat of Cihan Institution.
During the meeting, mechanisms for coordination and joint action were discussed in detail, along with the development of a unified strategy aimed at enhancing the sectors of agriculture, water resources, animal husbandry, horticulture, and the integration of advanced technology into production. The discussion also focused on strengthening food and water security, creating job opportunities, and empowering agricultural staff scientifically and professionally.
The meeting also addressed how to utilize the opportunities and available resources of the Ministry within the Kurdistan Region, including soil, water, climate, the economic environment, and the agro-industrial field, as well as how to invest these resources in developmental and investment projects.
Several important proposals were reached in this meeting, which are expected to be translated into practical steps and necessary implementation measures in the near future — through coordination among the Ministry’s departments and with support from the Secretariat of Cihan University, Institutes, and Schools.
