The discussion about legal issues, agricultural land problems, popular mobilization issues, oil and budget problems, the non-disbursement of the region’s operating budget, and company problems.

This was attended by a group of distinguished teachers and educators participating in the teaching methods course organized by the Teaching Methods Center at the university in coordination with the Duhok Education Directorate.

The seminar highlighted the fundamental concepts of financial literacy, including personal financial planning, principles of saving and investment, as well as managing debts and loans, as part of its efforts to enhance financial awareness and develop financial skills among educational staff.

This scientific activity aims to empower teachers and educators to build solid financial capabilities that positively reflect on their personal and professional lives, contributing to the upbringing of a financially aware generation capable of making sound economic decisions in the future.

Today, Tuesday, 5/11/2024, Zakat Al-Elim, in cooperation with the Department of Law at the University of cihan Suleimani, organized a seminar titled “Dealing with Digital Currencies and Their Risks on Individual and Collective Income, from a Religious, Legal, and Economic Perspective” with the following speakers: Mr. Dr. Abu Bakr Muhammad Amin Begwani, the Sharia and Economic Advisor, Mr. Khaled Haidar, an expert in the economic environment, and Mr. Judge Bashwan Tahir, a judge of the Security Investigation Court in Suleimani. Dr. Zana Rasool was the coordinator of the seminar. In this seminar, the first speaker, Mr. Dr. Abu Bakr Bangui, explained the legal aspects of using these currencies in participation. Mr. Khaled Haidar then explained the economic dimensions of using such currencies for the attendees, and Mr. Judge Bashwan Taher clarified how to handle cases related to digital currencies in the courts. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Amid Rafiq Fatah, the President of Sulaymaniyah University, thanked the speakers. It is noteworthy that several media outlets covered this important scientific activity.

As part of the activities of the Scientific Zakat Project of the Center for Scientific Research and Continuing Training, a seminar was held for Mr. Zahra Ezzeddin, the Director of the Accounting Department of the Institute. In a seminar presented to the staff of the Institute, the concept of taxation and its evolution from its origin to the present day, along with its methods, legal aspects, and regulation of taxes were discussed.

As part of its scientific and awareness activities, Babagurgur University organized a discussion session titled ‘Management and Financial Skills’, presented by Dr. Mehaq on June 2, 2025.

The episode discussed the importance of having academic and administrative staff with effective organizational and financial skills, such as planning, time management, financial data analysis, and making sound administrative decisions. It also emphasized the role of these skills in enhancing efficiency and achieving the goals of educational institutions.

The episode witnessed good interaction from the attendees and contributed to raising awareness of the importance of continuous professional development in the fields of management and finance within the university environment.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, in the presence of political and governmental figures, representatives of civil society organizations, academics, and students, a scientific panel was held under the title:
“The Iraqi Parliamentary Elections: Between Strengthening the Federal System and Addressing Political Crises”
at the College of Law, Cihan University – Duhok, in cooperation with the Legal Research and Consultation Center at the College of Law – University of Duhok.

The event began with a welcoming speech by Dr. Rebar Hussein, Dean of the College of Law at Cihan University – Duhok. This was followed by an introduction to the goals of the panel presented by Prof. Dr. Afin Khalid Abdulrahman, Dean of the College of Law – University of Duhok.

The panel featured four main sessions moderated by Dr. Dzhwar Ahmed:

  1. First Session: Presented by Dr. Ranjbar Jamil Shekho, Head of the Legal Research and Consultation Center – University of Duhok, discussing the philosophical foundations of the electoral process.
  2. Second Session: Presented by Mr. Khalid Ahmed, head of the Elections Department of the KDP’s Duhok Branch, focusing on mechanisms for candidate nomination.
  3. Third Session: Presented by Dr. Renas Jano, former member of the Iraqi Parliament, on political awareness and activating electoral participation.
  4. Fourth and Final Session: Presented by Dr. Jamal Kocher, current Member of Parliament, evaluating the electoral process through the role and performance of representatives.

At the end of the event, a Q&A and open discussion session was held between the panelists and the attendees.
